Hi there
I would like to make a bread for a poorly friend - she has mentioned this bread that she eats with her sister in florida - apparently it has healing qualities, can anyone suggest a name and/or recipe?

molasses in bread
I learnt to make bread from an aunt, who added a tbsp of black treacle to the warm water. I used to call it the "secret ingredient." Black treacle is almost the same as molasses, but not so bitter.
This was with 3lb wholemeal flour, and gave a rich, toffee-like flavour. (Remember treacle toffee?)
In the absence of other replies maybe you could try this.
