Where is the Starter recipe???

I know that I saw it on this fourm. But now I can not find it. It was a simple recipe to make your own sourdough started using flour and water. It also had a video to it. I am new here and want to learn as much as I can.

Thanks in advance

Now for another question. Do you have to use Rye flour or can you use AP flour for it all the way? Have a grandaughter who can not have rye.

Thanks again.

Re: Starter recipe

If you are using AP flour, make sure it is unbleached. The bleaching process tends to destroy most of the yeasts in the flour. Your starter will probably take longer to come alive without using whole grain flour. Stir it frequently to deter mold.

Went to town.

Had to go to town so I went to the store and bought some WW flour. Starting it tomarrow with the WW. Still going to try the AP as I started it allready. It's not doing much as of yet.

Re: Starter

You don't need to start over. Just feed the original mixture with the WW for a few days, until you start to see activity.

Thanks again
