Hello-from Jonesboro, Ga.
Just want to tell you how excited I am about finding this site! I have always wanted to make bread and have dabbled over the years with it. Did try the honey-wheat from the video. Followed the directions-but still haven't grasp the shaping of the smaller round loaf. Also mine didn't come out as dark as his. Why was that?
Thanks Hope

HI Hope and welcome to Fresh Loaf! I havent been a member for very long but have really enjoyed my short time here. I really cant reply to your question cuz I havent tryed or seen the video but now I just might. Bread baking can really get the creative juices going. I found out that there are so many variables to be considered when one makes his or her own bread that only further experience can truly answer most questions.Enjoy the ride and keep us posted. Color
Lots of things influence the color. Two of them are tempature and sugar. If you bake it hotter (add another 25-50 degrees) and add some more honey, it should darken up quite a bit.
You can also glaze it for a little deeper color. Check out the lesson about glazing.
