Pretzel rolls -- perfect for grilling season

I went on a quest for pretzel-roll recipes yesterday and ended up adapting a few to come up with what I think is a pretty darn tasty pretzel roll -- perfect for sausages or burgers this grilling season.

You can check it out at Flour Girl.

Happy baking! And happy weekend!

Something a little different

I love this idea. It's something just a little bit different. I got the recipe off your blog, one question. How long do you wait to slice for the sandwiches? Do you cook them the day before or day of the feast. :)

Thanks for sharing!

no need to wait ...

You can (and probably should) serve these guys the day you make them. Just let them cool down and you're good to go.

Let me know how they turn out!

Happy baking,

Heather

so good!

I had never heard of these before and I made them...they're AMAZING and GORGEOUS!

yeah!

I'm so glad they were a hit at your house.

Thanks for trying them!

Made half recipe

Super soft and squishy, yet still curiously crisp right out of the oven. Chewy and delicious.

A few hours later, they had they texture of a very chewy bagel. Almost too chewy to enjoy as the hot dog buns intended.

Made as per the recipe, but used Kroger brand unbleached flour, 2 and a half tbs vw gluten, and a tbs of plain yogurt / liq whey for the milk.
