Cornbread's not much to brag about, but it sure tastes good. Done in a cast iron skillet with bacon, onions, corn and cheese.

You can brag!
That one makes me drool! There is an art to making cornbread. It doesn't come out of a box and doesn't get baked in a glass dish. Good job
Oh, and do you want to share your secret for the crust on that chicken? Mmmmm!
Chicken crust
Usually I soak chicken in a brine of kosher salt and brown sugar over night. Then dry rub with a choice of spices, dredge in flour, do an egg wash and roll in panko or seasoned bread crumbs. Quick fry and finish in the oven. The chicken in the pic ended up dipped in leftover pancake batter thinned with beer then tossed in bread crumbs.
Buttermilk
Try an overnight soak in buttermilk. Once fried, the chicken will explode with flavorful moisture in your mouth. Online there's several recipes for buttermilk fried chicken should you want to investigate.
Jalapenos
Jalapenos would be an excellent additional ingredient to your cornbread.
Jalapenos
I quite often add jalapenos or roasted reds. It's a great bread to play with.
