Bread baking class in RI or MA

Hello, I have been googling for a bread baking class near me and can't find anything. Does anyone know where I can find one in Rhode Island or southern MA? The only one I can find is one offered by King Arhur's flour co which is in Vermont.

Thanks

Shar, I'm not sure at all, but it might be worth checking with Clear Flour Bread in Brookline, MA.  I know that Christy & Abe (the owners) have regularly taught bread classes for students at Boston University.  I don't know if they still do, how often they do it, or if the classes would be open to the general public.  If you can't find anything else, you might want to check.

If you haven't already, check with Johnson & Wales Providence campus to see if they have have some sort of classes available in a short, non-degree program.  Again, that might be a dead end, but it's worth asking.

That's the one I'd choose since a master baker teaches there whose sourdough dvd is offered at the KA website.  I have that dvd on sourdough making and if I lived in the RI area, it's J&W where I'd take a class.

Johnston and Wales? Whatever the name of it is, Peter Reinhardt teaches there. Do not know if he has any free classes or classes that you can audit. Maybe that might be the way to go. I would go to one if he offered them.

Master Baker Ciril Hitz whose dvd on sourdoughs is offered by KA, teaches at J&W in RI.  I recently verified that fact.

I don't think they have free classes or classes one can audit, since it is a culinary college.  I imagine you have to be an enrolled student to attend their classes.

Nor am I sure if Mr. Reinhart still teaches there as he isn't listed as part of their faculty.

Given his writing, speaking, and personal appearance obligations, maybe he just took a hiatus from teaching at J&W.

I believe Mr. Reinhart teaches at the Charlotte campus of Johnson & Wales.

Right university, wrong campus.

An amazing man he is.  What does "chef on assignment" mean?

I believe tuition for a single baking class at J&W RI is in the $500 range.  Go navigate their website and see for yourself.

Johnson & Wales has recreational classes and it looks like there is a breads and rolls one in January. You can look them up at:
