Submitted by littleoopie on May 21, 2009 - 7:24am Hi from Washington, PAHello, I've been a member for a while, and have enjoyed looking through the lessons, but thought it was time to introduce myself. My name is Megan and I enjoy cooking, and recently making my own bread. I am a Grad student so I don't have a lot of extra time, but with summer break I plan on experimenting more with my bread. Even if it doesn't turn out perfectly my family is willing to eat it!

Hi!
Bread baking is great therapy. I usually do most of the mixing and kneading by hand. You'd be surprised how much frustration you can work out by beating the Heck out of the dough. The dough responds by being even better to eat. Have a ball. Remember that patience is the essence of making bread, and as Mike Avery says, making sourdough the essence is patience squared!
Have a ball!

Great Hobby
I have gotten into routine bread baking during the last year and it has been a great learning experience. It is also a great opportunity to run your own culinary experiments! Have fun!

Thanks
Thanks all for the well wishings. So far I love baking bread, I just bought the bread bakers apprentice and can't wait until I get it. I want to try it all.
