Hi everyone! Just found out about this site from a fellow stay at home dad. I look forward to learning more about bread. I've worked as a professional cook for about 15 years, but bread baking skill has eluded me. Now that I get to spend my days at home, maybe I can spend some time trying to develop this new ability. The site looks great, and y'all seem real friendly and knowledgable from what I've read so far. I can't wait to get started!

Hello
Welcome! Cool- professional cook- what sort of cooking were you doing?
I 'm sure you'll enjoy it here. There are many experts on TFL. (I'm just here to learn from them!)

Thanks!
Thanks for the welcome! It seems like a nice bunch of folks here. To answer your question, I've cooked in lots of restaurants, including Mediterranean, Steakhouse, Sushi, Southwestern, Mexican and breakfast. I've baked a little, but never really got the hang of it. Looking forward to learning a lot here.

Welcome Idaho Dad
Welcome to TFL. There are a lot of bread bakers here. Many of them appear to be men and some even have families (or, at least they say they do).

Hi, and thanks.
Thanks for the warm welcome, seems like a great place to learn from experienced bakers. I just need to try and work some kitchen time into my busy diaper changing schedule!

O heartless wench!
Appear to be men??!! Do we guys have to submit DNA samples now for validation? The occasional belch or blissful scratch isn't enough any more to establish our masculinity? Sheesh! :-)
Well, this is a virtual
Well, this is a virtual community. You could be a woman in disguise, and I guess I could really be a man, although I doubt it. :>)

Appear to be men??????
I can prove that I am a real man, virtual or non-virtual. Here goes...
Yes, Dear. I'm all over it, Hon. Do you need anything else, Sweetie? Yes, I try to remember to use my hanky next time.
There! Proof enough for you? LMAO
Welcome Jeff!
I am pretty new to this site as well. A stay at home MOM with a part time job. Interesting enough, I didn't realize I was a minority here until I read this thread. But I guess it's true that we have more male bread enthusiasts in this site than females, not a bad thing of course.
well
well i didn't know was in the majority..60 year old man who did most of the cooking raising my family. make the best comfort food in the world and had both of my daughters eating artichokes in the high chair. i believe that bread is the best comfort food in the world..let us break bread together
