Bosch grain mill attachment

Does anyone own or have experience with the grain mill attachment for the Bosch Compact Kitchen Machine? I have been very pleased with my Bosch since I bought it about two years ago. It came with a blender and shredder attachment and both work well. I am interested in milling my own flour, particularly rye since it's difficult to find anything but finely milled whole rye flour where I live. I like the fact that this is just an attachment and not an entirely new piece of equipment that I'd have to make room for. Plus it's relatively inexpensive. Anyone have an opinion?

I have the milling attachment

I have the milling attachment for the universal plus.  The flour that comes out of my mill is about an 8 on a scale of 1-10 for fineness.  When you rub the flour between your fingers between your fingers it feels a little bit gritty.  I don't use my mill anymore because I made a pedal powered stone mill.  I think I might as well sell my Bosch mill as I don't use it any more.  Would you be interested in buying it?

I have a compact kitchen

I have a compact kitchen machine, which is the small version (400 watts). I need one that is made specifically to fit my machine. It sounds like you have the full sized version, correct? Also, the description says you can adjust the coarseness/fineness to pretty much any consistency you desire. Has this not been the case for you?

I thought when I bought mine

I thought when I bought mine it said that it would fit any Bosch but really never gave it much thought.  I looked at the picture of yours and it looks much different than mine.  Yes mine you can adjust from coarse to fine.  I would say the fine setting is a bit more coarse than store flour.  The flour from it makes really good bread and I was happy with it.  I just wanted to get some exercise while I made my flour and I am even happier with my current set up.

Here is a picture of the milling attachment that I have.  http://www.cooksquarters.com/info/products/grain-mill-attachment-for-bosch-mixers.htm

The page there says that a compact Bosch needs an adaptor to use this mill.  I didn't see anywhere on that page where they where selling the adaptor.  fsu1mikeg if you are interested in the mill let me know since I offered it to you first.

Won't work for me

Won't work for me LeadDog....

It looks like the adaptor is more expensive than the attachment I was asking about in my initial post.  Thanks anyway.

Bidding War

Nope, just wanted him to know that I was interested if you are not!

I just checked, the one you cited may not work on mine.  I have the older MM3 version.

Can you find me the model number?  I will check it out.

Thanks,

Bob

Sorry, should have read up the page.  I am trying to find out if it fits the UM3.

Oldcampcook haven't found out

Oldcampcook haven't found out what your model of Bosch is yet.  The mill claims to fit any Universal Bosch made after 1953.  Is that helpful?
