griddle bread?

Hi all

Went to a Gyro shop. They poured a flour batter like pancake on the grill. It came out like a muffin texture and would fold around gyro meat without breaking apart. It had a little corn meal in it also. I have not been able to find a recipe close to this. Any ideas? Thank you.

I don't know about pouring,

I don't know about pouring, but you can cook Pita on a stovetop

See this link

I have also seen English Muffins cooked on a griddle. By taking the two recipes, maybe you can come up with a good compromise. I have not done regular Pitas in a long time. I always rolled them. But perhaps more liquid would result in something pourable for you.

Great stuff on that blog

Yes there's great content on that blog. It's nice to see a good one with original content and not just a rehash of recipes found on the web or copied from cookbooks. Mundane and tiring, so this definitely a nice change. I commented on several posts there and linked it off my baking blog. Every once in awhile you run across a winner.

Ethiopian bread.

It's poured onto a grill and it's spongy.  I have a recipe and will post it tomorrow.
