Know of bread festivals in your area or anywhere in US? Would appreciate dates and locations, websites if available. Thanks.

Summerloaf

The Portland Farmers Market has held a festival known as Summer Loaf every year. I've got pictures from last year.

I'm just looking at the schedule for 06 and it doesn't look like they are doing it this year. Sniff, sniff. :(

There IS something going on in Portland this year, as I have seen several posts about it on BBGA discussion board. Will try to get some info later and post it.

Thanks for the info about Portland's event. Will try to make that one next year. Anyone know of any others later in the fall? (That's when I've got some vacation timethis year.)

Bread Festivals in U.S.

Hi Sylvia,

This is a small but worth while bread festival done every year in Asheville, NC called the Asheville Artisan Bread Festival.  Not only is their an abundance of breads but they also offer bread classes that you can sign up for.  The most popular class is the brick oven flat bread course.  I wish I had registered early.  Here's the website http://www.ashevillebreadfestival.com/

Enjoy!

Kneading Bread Conference

There is a conference listed on Kneadingconference.com in Maine this summer.  I also received notification of a similar one in Western Washington this summer, but deleted it when I saw the registration fee was $300+.

Kneading Conference West

KneadingConferenceWest.com lists the event in Mount Vernon, WA in mid-September, early registration before 8-1 is $250.  Anyone want to buy my grandma's vintage china hutch--great condition-only $250! :)  I'm serious!
