Daewoo (Korean for "Great Universe") was a major South Korean chaebol (conglomerate). It was founded in March 22, 1967 as Daewoo Industrial and was dismantled by the Korean government in 1999.

Is there any possibility that you have the wrong model number? I spent an hour Googling all kinds of keywords for daewoo bread machines and only came up with 3 possible hits and those model numbers were a 3 digit-3 number combo and started with a D.

Evidently, Daewoo bread machines were not a large production item. As I said, Google failed me. (And I've spent time looking for bread machine manuals for a friend that bought 3 different ones at a thrift store. I was able to find free manuals for her for all three.)

Did the seller let you know before you purchased this machine that there was no operating manual to go with it? If not, I'd be getting my money back.

I tried the instrucitions site but they want 40 US dollars so   if I can get hold of a copy of the german instructions that would be a help as I might be able to get work it out with those!

I came to this site as I too have become the owner of one of these machines. It's in wonderful condition but like the poor folks above, I too am sans instructions. To make matters worse I have never used one of these devices before. On top of that I am recently seperated after 23 years. And to top it all off I am a guy, so that means I am wallowing in a mixture of self pity and helplessness. (I'll have to learn to use the clothes washing machine soon. It's getting expensive having to buy new underpants and socks every week. But that's for a different forum...).

I see from the thread that there may be a translated copy available? If there is and one of you fine people were inclined to send me a copy or point me in the right direction I would most certainly be indebted.

I translated the above manual last year. I will send a copy to rtmerrifield. Hope it helps. It is a translation from the German and also contains recipes provided in the Dutch manual. Basically, the manuals are poorly written in the original languages. However, the translation at least provides some reassurance that, as long as you are sensible, you won't burn yourself, others, the kitchen or the bread ;-). The recipes (strangely not included in the German manual) are also pretty useful.

I might be able to place the manual on my work website at some time, so that folks can just download it automatically from the link. However, I dont yet have all the Internet skills required for this yet.

Until that time, just let me know and I will email a copy.

Hi, you might want to use the google translater if you want to type the words, I get some articles from Berlin, Ger. at times in German and need to have them translated, sometimes it's a little rough in the translation, just in case in the future anyone needs a translation, you might try it.
