DAEWOO Brotback Automatic bread machine

Hello I am new here and delighted to find such a great site with so much info! I'm used to making bread by hand but bought a Daewoo Brotback Autmatic (KBM 0800F) breadmaking machine off ebay and am having fun. Only problem is the sellar has lost the instructions and the buttons are in a mixture of German and English. I'd really like to find out what I can do with the machine as, at the moment, althogugh I have made fantastic Brioche, ciabatta, sunflower seed and Whloemeal bread its rather  a case of pushing a random selection of buttons and hoping for the best! Does anyone have one or know where I can get hold of a manual please? I have looked on the net to no avail and had no responses back from Daewoo!

i guess this is why you wou"t get an answer from daewoo

Daewoo (Korean for "Great Universe") was a major South Korean chaebol (conglomerate). It was founded in March 22, 1967 as Daewoo Industrial and was dismantled by the Korean government in 1999.

Is there any possibility that you have the wrong model number? I spent an hour Googling all kinds of keywords for daewoo bread machines and only came up with 3 possible hits and those model numbers were a 3 digit-3 number combo and started with a D.

Evidently, Daewoo bread machines were not a large production item. As I said, Google failed me. (And I've spent time looking for bread machine manuals for a friend that bought 3 different ones at a thrift store. I was able to find free manuals for her for all three.)

Did the seller let you know before you purchased this machine that there was no operating manual to go with it? If not, I'd be getting my money back.

Sorry not to have been more help.

Thanks for going to all that trouble, I copied the number off the top of the machine so I must presume its the right number, and I couldnt find it anywhere on line either as I had hopedto be able to download a free manual. It was advertised with instructions but when it arrived it did so with a note saying the sellar could not find them so had sent a bread making book instead interesting but not very useful unless I could work the machine! I did raise a complaint with ebay but unfortuantly the sellar has now opted out of ebay! Never mind one loses some and wins some! I have now gone out and bought a regular machine complete with manual and guarantees so hopefully I can now start  working with that!

I do really appreciate everyones help! I shall try and photo and then post an image of the buttons and perhaps I will eventually find out how the old one works!

Hello.

I have the manual for that bread machine, but it's in German and I don't know German. I can scan and post it if someone can translate it. I haven't used this machine for several years and was hoping to find the instructions in English on the Internet, but have had no luck.

Hi, I've just joined the site, in search of this manual. My wife bought a nearly new Daewoo with a Dutch manual. I'm currently translating this into English, but I'm much better in German (I'm a German technical translator by trade), so if you can send me the manual, this might speed up the time it takes me to get a workable English translation available.

I tried the instrucitions site but they want 40 US dollars so   if I can get hold of a copy of the german instructions that would be a help as I might be able to get work it out with those!

I can send a PDF of the German manual to anyone who wants it. I would be very grateful for an English translation.

Thanks that would be wonderful and yes of course if I can translate into any sort of sense I will send it to you!!

I would very much appreciate receiving a copy of the German PDF. Please send it to tosborn@compuserve.com

I am already well into the Dutch - > English translation. Receiving a copy of the German would make it much easier for me to produce a good translation quickly.

Thanks

I have the same problem with the bread oven, I received the machine as a gift and with no manual. Can you please help me with any of those english/german versions of the manual?

Thank you very much!

Hi All,

I came to this site as I too have become the owner of one of these machines. It's in wonderful condition but like the poor folks above, I too am sans instructions. To make matters worse I have never used one of these devices before. On top of that I am recently seperated after 23 years. And to top it all off I am a guy, so that means I am wallowing in a mixture of self pity and helplessness. (I'll have to learn to use the clothes washing machine soon. It's getting expensive having to buy new underpants and socks every week. But that's for a different forum...).

I see from the thread that there may be a translated copy available? If there is and one of you fine people were inclined to send me a copy or point me in the right direction I would most certainly be indebted.

Cheers.

Looks like there may be a cost involved.  If anyone has a manual with a www. service address, for any Daewoo product, that would be the way to go.  Daewoo still exists.  Once there, ask for an online site where you can download a copy in English or German or whatever.

Hi there,

I translated the above manual last year. I will send a copy to rtmerrifield. Hope it helps. It is a translation from the German and also contains recipes provided in the Dutch manual. Basically, the manuals are poorly written in the original languages. However, the translation at least provides some reassurance that, as long as you are sensible, you won't burn yourself, others, the kitchen or the bread ;-). The recipes (strangely not included in the German manual) are also pretty useful.

I might be able to place the manual on my work website at some time, so that folks can just download it automatically from the link. However, I dont yet have all the Internet skills required for this yet.

Until that time, just let me know and I will email a copy.

Hope this helps

Hi, you might want to use the google translater if you want to type the words, I get some articles from Berlin, Ger. at times in German and need to have them translated, sometimes it's a little rough in the translation, just in case in the future anyone needs a translation, you might try it.
