Hi everyone, I am from México and live in Monterrey, close to the border to Texas.


I have been reading a lot of interesting things on this site and I really love it. I have a small business from home, I bake salty pies for small reunions, gatherings, or any type of event, etc. and I am always looking for new ideas.


I love bread so I hit the jackpot when I found this wonderful site, and I have already learned quite a few things here.


Thank you for sharing your ideas, recipes, tips and techniques with all of us.

Hi, everybody!


Maybe this is a bit silly, since I've already exchanged messages with a few of your wonderful selves and posted my own question about how best to bake bread on a Coleman camp stove - and I received so many fantastic ideas and suggestions - but I hadn't really given an Official Introduction; essentially, I'm a writer and stumbling but devoted baker living in Hungary, and I've been so enthralled by the whole Fresh Loaf community.

Hi All,


After being spoiled by living near Zingermans (Ann Arbor, MI) for a few years and eating their amazing bread every day, it's very hard to find real bread in the Northern Virginia area (Balducci's isn't the same).


A colleague's partner shared some of their sourdough starter with me last week so I decided to take the plunge and try making some bread (it's resting in the fridge right now as I type).  The crazy thing is I've had some great books for a while (BBA, La Brea..) but never got around to doing it so wish me luck!

Hello everyone.    I live in the Tampa Bay area and have been baking simple breads off and on for the last 20 years, sometimes with my Zojurushi and sometimes by hand - but I would not call myself an expert by any means.  I bake bread because I cannot stand the stuff that passes for bread at the grocery store and I cannot afford to buy everything at the bakery.  I love whole grain breads and I especially love sourdoughs!

I've always been a big cook and do run a small catering company part time, but baking has become my new passion ever since I stumbled into it a year or so ago.

I just found you! My name is Anj and I live in Northeast Texas, about 60 miles east of Dallas and 50 west of Tyler. I've been reading ever since stumbling across a link. Wonderful stuff here! I can see that I'm going to learn a lot. Right now some of the terminology is Greek to me, but I'm sure I'll learn.
