Hello craftbakers!

Hi everyone, 

    I'm fairly new at this, and don't have many recipes to share as yet.  I'm still working through the basics- I'm one of those ppl who like to master the foundations before getting fancy.

So currently I'm working on mastering pizza crust... like this guy :Jeff Varasano's NY Pizza Recipe  .  Although I'm not brave enough to cut the safety interlock off my oven's cleaning cycle lol.

Hi this is my introduction.   I am a keen home cook, mainly into european and aisan food.  Thai, indian, british, french, italian, spanish food...


I have baked the odd loaf of bread with ok or not so good results.  I've been on you tube for info on baking, read Richard Bertinet book, and been inspired by this forum. 


I am just at the basic stage I think even though I can't wait to do more... 


started using fresh yeast today.  Await the results in a hour or so.  The dough felt different already.  Zoe

ideas for the oven after the bread

Hi everyone out there. I've been reading Fresh Loaf every day for a month and have just plucked up courage to introduce myself. I live in Suffolk, in England - very rural - and bake every week, mostly sourdough. A neighbour and I have just built an oudoor, wood-fired oven so we're having fun learning how to use it - in the snow! Any ideas for things to cook after the bread?

My only complaint about Fresh Loaf is that it's addictive - is there a sister site called Bakaholics Anonymous!

I've been wanting to start baking our bread for some time now and once I found this site I knew it was that time.  I'm a stay at home mom living in Iowa with a 9 month old daughter.  I'm making a variation on French bread as I type this...first rise is going well and if it tastes good I'll probably post the recipe.

I hope I learn a lot while I'm here!

Hello,  I'm a new baker and have been reading this site for a few months. I started baking basic white bread last fall and shortly after discovered the no-knead recipe, which was quite an epiphany.  Since then I've been reading, experimenting, and trying to develop my skills and baking at least once a week. I want to thank everyone for the information I've gotten from this site over the past few months.  I look forward to being able to post my questions.

Hello.  My name is Lorie and I'm new here. 

I've been baking bread for a couple years now and enjoy it.  However, with my toddler running around after his two older siblings I thought I'd try out bread machines.  I find completely different results and my kids beg me to go back to my old ways.  In my search to save my bread (from the machine) I found this site.  

I hope to learn much and hopefully be a blessing as well.
