Giusto's in South SF, KAF in SF

I saw Giusto's Peak Performer 50#bag at Whole Foods in Redwood City and wanted to buy it.

Of course I was told they have to check the price but at the end they didn't sell it to me and I was told

that someone will contact me about the price. I asked twice since then but never got any answers.

Have anyone got that flour from WF? Maybe you tried Giusto's mill in S. SF? I don't want to buy online from their web site, it's too $$.

Where do you get bulk flour in the Bay Area w/o having to drive to Petaluma?

Opinion on a few flours?

So I've made a connection thru a local restaurant that should help me get access to bulk flours. I'm definitely going to buy 1 50lb bag of GM Harvest King Flour, but I'm interested on any opinions on the following flours:

  • Giusto All Purpose Enriched Unbleached Flour
  • Pendleton Power high-gluten
  • GM Rye Flour

Any feedback appreciated, thanks in advance folks.

Opinions on Bulk Whole Wheat Flours?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking into buying bulk flour, but haven't tried any of the brands that are available. So if you know anything about these flours, please tell me your experiences!

From Heartland Mills I could get their standard whole wheat, or what appears to be a whole wheat hard blend. I'm also curious about their high gluten flour, and everyone seems to like Golden Buffalo.

From Giusto's there's something that appears to be called whole wheat ultra performance. Any idea what's in this?
