I just wanted to share that with all you bakers out there! Submitted by mistermister on November 1, 2010 - 5:03pm Yeast Bread Recipes reflecting your state's heritage, its people and culture.Hello everyone: My name is Steven King and like you, I am an amateur bread baker. I am currently working on a bread baking book (I have purlished before and have written extensivley). A bread baking book with a twist. I am looking for yeast bread recipes that reflect the culture, heritage and people of your state. Additionally, the recipe must include a story - the story behined the recipe. 3 recipes will be selected from each state for publishing and the winners will receive an autographed copy of the book, their picture will be posted along with their submission. The ingredients must be readily attainable (if obtained online, please furnish the web address). Recipes will be judged on instruction clarity, appearance, flavor, authenticity and accompanying storyline. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. Call for home bakers!
Do you bake at home? Is it delicious? Has anyone ever told you that you would do well going head to head in a friendly amateur bake off? Well, now here is your chance. On Sunday, May 16th starting at 5:30pm the Fourth Arts Block (a do-gooder non-profit organization) is having an amateur Talent Show and Bake Off so that you can showcase your talents! Sweet and savory treats both welcome.
Audience members will get to vote and the winner of each competition will get a fabulous prize!
Each baker will prepare 50 bites of baked goodness for audience members to taste and the audience will vote on their favorite sweet and savory items.
Goods must be baked beforehand, not onsite.

But even so, it bears repeating: The Breadline Africa Worldwide Blogger Bake Off was created and began on 15 October 2008. (It ends on 15 October 2009 or when US$1 million has been raised, whichever occurs first.) With our support, Breadline Africa can "convert shipping containers into locations for food production and distribution. These sustainable community kitchens will not only provide foods such as bread and soup to those in need, but also opportunities for skills development within these poor communities". And here's where we come in:
Anyone can join. Once you register, you can as tag others to do the same. So, not wanting to single anyone out... if you haven't been tagged already, consider yourself tagged. Let's get baking and sending our dough!! For complete details on how you can help, please see:
