Cheap, super easy, and delicious pizza sauce

March 20, 2012 - 7:38am -- laura seim

I made my first homemade pizzas not too long ago and came up with this for the sauce and it turned out fabulous and tasted like authentic Italian pizza! I don't know if this is the right place to put it, hopefully it is. So here's what I used:

1 small can of fire roasted tomatoes (14-15 oz can)

2 Tbsp chopped garlic

1 Tbsp olive oil

1-2 tsp Italian herbs

1 Tbsp basil

(can add pinch of salt if you'd like but I found it unecessary since the tomatoes are already salted - and I like salt)

decent inexpensive grain mill

I just got some fresh wheat berries and I want to grind them into flour. I tried using my beer grinders but they didn't work at all so I had to use my coffee grinder.

Please take a look at my blog site! http://breadnbeer.wordpress.com/

I just made some fresh wheat bread, it's awesome! But the coffee grinder takes forever..

My $5 brotform

January 1, 2008 - 11:18am -- salvy
Forums:

I discovered this forum when searching the web for a reasonably-priced brotform basket.

Finding none, I read some of the earlier brotform posts and realized that this baking item seems to be universally overpriced.

Decided to take matters into my own hands. It worked!

Grabbed a roll of 7/16" OD x 20' vinyl tubing at Home Depot, $5.55 with tax. I am confident this stuff is food-safe - I have used it for years for brewing beer and it's what moves air and water in millions of fishtanks around the world.
