I will be teaching a class on baking soon and wanted to gather what we all thought would be valuable to teach to beginners. Just curious as to what you all out there think is important to know and what you learned first and thought was invaluable to your baking skills. I have been baking at home for over four years now and am self taught. I want to make sure I am not missing anything important.

Any thoughts?

Just Starting Out…

September 23, 2011 - 2:33pm -- dotknott

Today I made my first loaf of bread in my adult life... I grew up with a father who baked bread at least once a week and I would help him out as a kid but I was little… and that was some time ago…

I wanted to make something to go with the french onion soup I'm making for dinner so I did a quick google search for some basic bread reciepes…

I have yet to cut into the loaf (I'll have to wait until dinner for that) but it's looking pretty good so far…
