Lee flour mill motor lubrication

August 13, 2022 - 7:43pm -- Personwithhat

I think there's an allen screw I can unscrew to put a light oil in on my S600.

Motor is a bit scratchy, I don't think it's the carbon bushings, probably bearings?

What kind of lubricant can I use? I have a light starrett mineral oil I can probably put in safely.

Assuming that is how you lubricate the motor. Has anyone does this on any of their lee flour mills?

Or taken one apart enough to know if it's possible :)

Lee flour mill - Parts

July 24, 2022 - 4:32pm -- Personwithhat

The original company is now defunct as of 2018 and I'm struggling to find replacement parts.

I have an non-adjustable S500 and an adjustable S600 iirc.

The first one has two issues:

The feeder spring has lost tension, causing over-feeding and overheating leading to a motor stall. Only happened once and it's been offline until I could get a new spring.

One of the carbon brush mounts in the back motor assembly had snapped off (tiny bronze rod)

LEE MILL 600 GRIND SIZE ADJUSTMENT ISSUES

July 15, 2022 - 3:15pm -- Elliott

Hi, I just got an old 600 and in doing the first run of wheat berries, the grind size is all mixed from course to fine. It seems that the C-F adjustment isnt really working. Ive cleaned all the surfaces and the tapered ring rotates and opens and closes the gap between the flat ring behind the stone. It appears that there is a gap between the  center disc and the flat ring that the flour particles can get through. Am I missing something? I contacted Lee but they dont know anything about this mill as it was before they bought the company.

Spare parts for the Grain maker 99

May 20, 2022 - 3:19am -- vincenzo29

Hello there

I would like to buy a Grain Maker mill.

Could anybody suggest - based on his/her experience - what spare parts it is convenient to buy with the mill?

I was thinking perhaps: an extra set of burr and shaft & bearings. I am not sure about the auger...

Also, have you got any experience with the Homestead Huller kit? How often is it necessary to change the huller replacement pads? I am based in Italy and perhaps it is more cost-effective to order extra parts with the mill...

Thank you very much!
