preheating or not....

I was trying to add this to someone else's thread but I couldn't find it!  So whomever it was...

I tried your idea of not bothering to preheat my oven and it worked perfectly.  (just some standard loaf type whole wheat bread).  Good idea!

Hey S

Glad to hear of another success using this technique.  Here is the link you were looking for.  It was buried pretty far down the list.

From a noncomputer person, is there actually a list of threads, and how is it called up?

Thanks.

Most of the posting action here seems to be driven by the front page, but if you look at the banner just under the The Fresh Loaf logo you will see a link to Forums. Click that, and it will take you to the page where posts are organized by topic and thread in the classic bulletin board manner.

It might be a good thing to have a second copy of that link in the banner of the Latest Comments section so that more people are aware it exists.

...I have had quite a bit of luck doing searches from the search box at the top left side of the page.  I'm not sure yet if putting your search into quotes makes a difference (Floyd could tell us) but I've tried it both ways.   For instance, just try a search using "preheat" or preheat and you would find the thread.  Usually quotes helps if you are using multiple words for your search such as "no preheat" or "preheat oven."

Hey George

I agree the search and forums list both work well.  There are a lot of threads in there that if you don't see while it's up on the main page go down the list in a hurry.  Some of these I noticed don't have responses either.  I routinely go through and answer a few if I can even if they are old.

Thanks all. The "Forum" link is something I had forgotten about.  I think my main concern is that there is so much good stuff coming in that I am afraid of missing some of it.  Also, if a link becomes long and involved, such as some of the sourdough threads, I print them out if they contain specific methods that I might want to use in the future.
