Noob from Oregon

Hi all. I'm an avid cook and a novice baker. I just got a new mixer and have been making a couple loaves a week, with varying degrees of success. With each loaf, I learn something new and end up with tons more questions. I'm looking forward to a new year, new learning and lots of fresh bread.

If I may be so bold as to enquire, what type of mixer are you using?  Mine just blew up so in the market for one

thanks, and welcome

I got a Kitchen Aid Artisan 5 qt mixer.  I wanted to get a 6 qt, but I couldn't pass up the price.  I got a Black Friday deal discounted to $200.  It's more than enough for the 2 loaf batches I've been doing.

Good to have another fellow Oregonian here.  I'm sure you'll enjoy the community here.  As your sucess 'varies' don't hesitate to ask questions, there are a lot of talented people here to provide help and input.  You can't go wrong with fresh homemade bread.
