May I humbly request new forum posts use descriptive titles (subjects) please, for ease of knowing which links to visit?
I am mostly a lurker, and have no wish to offend the posters who so generously share their experiences and amazing knowledge of all things bread! I am truly grateful to you all for your contributions! I really love receiving a daily email that tells me about new posts, and many of these have a great description about their content in the title... however sometimes it is frustrating that some have such vague subjects. Some recent examples: "have you seen this" "coming out of hiding" "cozy and comforted" "even in France"
I hesitated to write this, however I hope that it will just serve as a reminder and not seem a scolding, which I have no right to do! Mainly I just don't want to miss anything, but my computer is slow, and it is time consuming to click through to every link just to see what it's about, if not evident from the title...

At the bottom of the page is a link to the activity tracker, which will open a new page showing the various topics (which are always pretty self-explanatory), and the latest activity in that topic.
You might find this more convenient than reading your email notifications.
It would be nice if all threads were accurately labeled, if no one every posted in ALL CAPS, if all threads stayed on topic... but they will not.
Computer speed should not be a problem on a site like this anymore either: you can get a brand new laptop for about 400 bucks that's plenty fast to watch YouTube videos or surf this site, and there are plenty of places to get cheap used hardware.
Let's keep in mind that the processing speed of the computer is dependant on the speed of the ISP connection. A dial-up connection, for example, will not perform at or near the same speed as a DSL connection.
IMO, the lady has made a reasonable request which might well serve to improve the ability of dial-up and similar connection subscribers to the forum to get more enjoyment out of their experience with TFL. While I would not entertain the notion to label all responses with descriptive titles, I'll do my best to honor her request with any initial posts. The post responses can then be logged and more easily tracked using the tracking feature in the personal account files.
Food for thought: more people are surfing the web (including this site) on mobile devices like iPhones now than on dial up. Mobile devices not only have restricted bandwidth but also limited screen real estate and considerably reduced ability to input text quickly.
Thanks everyone for trying to be kind about my request. I wasn't sure what was meant about clicking the link at the bottom of the email, but I did and was taken to my account settings. There I was able to enable more detail to be included in the emails. Hopefully that will do the trick. Happy baking!
