Help needed regarding norpro bake pan

Does anyone know how much dough in weight that the NORPRO 8x4 1/2x3 inch bread pan holds and how long to bake it at 350 degrees?? I called the company and they have no idea and I don't have time to experiment today. Thanks! This is for wheat bread.

My guess would be about 16 ounces of dough, with a baking time of 30 to 40 minutes depending on what type of bread you are making.

There are two common sizes for loaf pans: 8 1/2 x 4 inches and 9 x 5 inches.

The smaller size usually is for 1 pound loaves; the larger, for 1 1/2 pound loaves.

You could put in more than 16 oz. as Dave says. When I made my original post I wasn't thinking about finished weight. The finished weight of the loaf will be a few ounces less than the initial weight owing to evaporation.

I typically use about 540 grams of dough in this size pan (about 19 oz.) but less will work too.  I get a finished weight of about 460 to 480 or about a pound.

In my oven, my bake time for this size pan is about 28 minutes.  I turn the pan around at 10 minutes and then again at 20 or so.

Edit, my oven temp is 360 for a "white" bread with lots of eggs, some sugar, butter and milk.  I use higher temp (410 to 425) for leaner breads with very little sugar, no milk and no eggs.

Thank you. I ended up using 20 oz of dough. It made a nice high loaf.
