Great site!

Hi.  I'm not a very experienced blogger so it took me a little while to realize that if I have been spending a lot of time on a site I should probably introduce myself.  I have mostly been a lurker, but have posted a few times.

A little about myself:

I have always been an enthusiastic and adventurous cook, but until the past couple of years, not much of a baker.  I have always enjoyed quick breads and sweets: cookies, cakes, pies, but always thought that bread would be too time consuming.  Then at some point I was nominated to make a loaf of bread for a family holiday meal and was so impressed with how much better my very simple loaf (Cooks Illustrated's American White Bread) was than those from the supermarket that I have been baking ever since!

That said, i just want to say that this is a very informative site!  I have used several tips and am still discovering new treasures as I figure out how best to navigate.  Thanks to everyone who contributes and of course thanks to the folks who manage TFL.  I'll probably ask some redundant questions so I appreciate everyone's patience.

I am new to the site as well and now find that a certain transformation is happening.  My baking will never be the same and that is a good thing but I have also become addicted to learning everything there is to know about baking and communicating with the people who know and do the kind of baking I aspire to.  As you know it is a great group of folks who are happy to help.  Its great to have one more.  Welcome aboard!

Oh yes, there's nothing like homemade bread!  You're right, it's a great site - glad you joined in.

I agree with everything stated above.  The members are great on here and there is a wealth of info and links to be found.
