King Arthur Flour is sponsoring the 2009 National Festival of Breads baking contest.

Would be pretty cool if a TFL baker walked away with the glory and prizes.

For those considering entering, note the fine print:

"...Each entrant also agrees that each original recipe and all legal rights and interests in said recipe, including the rights of copyright, become the exclusive property of King Arthur Flour and The Kansas Wheat Commission, which reserve the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, transfer, and use any or all Contest entries, without compensation to the entrant or any third party."

Yeah, I don't like that. I won't enter unless that is changed.

For what it's worth, it won't matter.  Photography contests, which I also don't enter, tend to sometimes have a similar legal disclaimer.

Has anybody heard what Betty Crocker is up to these days?

Howard

EDIT: This just in...Betty C. just called to wish me happy holidays.  She's at a very loud, roaring party at Pillsbury's headquarters in Minneapolis. Anybody who needs autographed 8 X 10 color photos of Betty and the Dough Boy will need to contact Betty asap.  Supplies are limited.

Hmmmm ... Must be done in 8 hours. Must use KAF. Must use yeast. (Not SAF, I bet, given that another yeast company is a sponsor.)

I can't think of any breads I bake that qualify.

Sic transit gloria!
