There are some metal detector history buffs on youtube who dig up old grenades.  Maybe think twice before pulling those pins out ! what is it btw ?

i wonder if the shapes made inside this form look like columns?  Supports for tiered cake?  Ever bake anything in them?  Just to see the positive shape?   A cross section might look like a star.  How many points?

It looks pretty sturdy like it might be heated first before adding a batter or candy.  Marzapan or moist sugar mold? That gives me an idea.... take it out to the sand box and pack it full of wet sand and then unmold it.  A little moist brown or granulated sugar would also work.  After the outside dries a bit (flat side down to keep it moist) it can be hollowed out (to cover metal cake support frame for example.).

The picture of the open mold could be better.  Hard to see.  Aluminum?  Could it be part of a set?

theres no foolin you guys, its a mold for wedding cake columns.

Insert a slug of pastillage and close it, trim off excess paste that is squeezed out and open up , leave column to dry.

I only used them once but they did work as designed.

And what happens in this form? It's just not yet very clear what can happen. Do you have examples of products that you made using this form? Interesting to see.
