Romertopf 110 capacity?

Picked one of these older version clay bakers (unglazed, stamped “Bay West Germany”) at Goodwill yesterday. Baking Peter Reinhart’s Artisan Breads Every Day San Fran sourdough for the umpteenth time, but first time using the Romertopf. What is the max weight of dough can you effectively bake? I have about 2 pounds of dough proofing right now (about half of the recipe).

a quick browse says 1.5 to 3 pounds.  I guess it depends on the density of your loaf.

Many reviews pop up. I didn't detail read them, just skimmed the summary at duckduckgo.com

The volume is mentioned several times as 1.5 quarts.

I love finding stuff like that at Goodwill.  Especially at the "Outlet" stores where you pay by the pound.  I have a GW "Outlet" store not far from me.

Thanks for the google work! The worst that could happen if I overload it is that it hits the “ceiling”. ? I might just experiment a bit. This 2 pound load has a nice rise. Can’t see the slashing it sprung so much! Looking forward to cutting this one open.

Younger daughter was the one who wanted to go to Goodwill. She snagged a commercial, countertop gumball machine for $4! It was $50 online! The glass globe was emblazoned with the logo of our local electric co-op, so we think it must have been in their office at some point.
