Turmeric sourdough Bread Test bake #1

Please don't count me as pretentious. I truly do not have delusions of grandeur. However, I have a lot of fun putting my limited knowledge and experience to the test. When I spend hours thinking about a bake before the spatula ever hits the flour, it is like a vacation for my anxious mind. Believe it or not, even writing a halfway intelligent blog entry helps my mild anxiety. Enough about me, this morning I saw a very nice looking Turmeric sourdough Bread, at one of the bread making clubs on FB. The poster did not link or post a recipe. That was enough to inspire, Turmeric sourdough Bread, test bake #1! I am always open to constructive criticism and helpful ideas, that could improve on my own ideas. To be continued:

Kind regards, Will F.

proved to be difficult. I may have to rethink the bread flour only autolyse, depending on the outcome.

The dough is still sticky but manageable, with a noticeable improvement in gluten development. One more hour untouched and I can move on to the shaping and put this puppy, (and myself) to bed!

I have been around here a while, I guess. HERE is a link to Shiao-Ping's blog written in 2009. She had a wonderful recipe for Orange Turmeric Bread that was quite delicious. She had many inspiring posts.

Turmeric has such subtle flavor and lovely color. It pairs nicely with other herbs and aromatics quite well. One of my favorites is Turmeric and Tarragon but use your imagination. If you enter "turmeric" in the search box, there are just a few results but most of them are very nice breads! I added more turmeric and ended up with a "screaming " yellow crumb. What fun!

I can't wait to see the final pics of your lovely looking loaf.

I actually did try and search a recipe here. I guess I was using to many words. Meanwhile I am pleased as punch with how my formula worked. I can't wait to see the crumb!
