Tassajara Bread

Well i came across an old bread book that was given to us many years ago by my mum in law way back before we were even married, so that was around 1973. Ive used the book many times over the years but forgot all about it till I was looking for something else. So I had another go at the Tassajara fruit platted loaf. Used mollases in the recipe this time, before I think we used honey but not the full amount . Filled it with slices of nectarine, banana, apple and pear, mmmmmmmm

anyone else used this book and any ideas and variations on other recipes from it.

Cheers

...because I figured it was a classic, but I haven't made anything from it yet.  I'll go back and have a look, and when the temperatures cool down a bit, I'll bake something from it.  Thanks for the reminder.

Now there's a blast from the past.  Used to bake from that book in my "hippie bread baker" days.

These days I am concentrating on learning to think deeply about bread and making my own formulas, but that book is well written and a classic bread book.  I hope you enjoy rediscovering it.

Happy Baking!

This was my first bread book, back in the early 70's. I liked it because it taught me about the effect of various added ingredients, and I liked that the recipes were, well, more like guidelines.  I baked a lot of WW bread from it. Can't comment on the various recipes, but it's popular enough that I saw it in the bookstore the other day.

Peace and love man (as they used to say in the 60's)

not that I would know about that, honest!

Cheers
