good result from granite ware round roaster

i got a granite ware round roaster because, well, it's enameled and it was $6 on amazon.  i used it the other day to make faux sourdough that was too slack to support itself, and the round roaster did a great job giving it form and cooking it through, and because it's so thin it only added 3 minutes to the cooking time, and since i covered it for the first half of the cooking time, it kept in enough steam and made a wonderfully crispy crust.

this morning i woke up at 1:30 for some reason, and decided to make 2 small (200 grams flour) soda breads, one after the other.  these are free standing, so basically i used the roaster as a smaller baking sheet.  and i was very pleased that i guess due to the thinness of the steel, the bottoms of the breads came out nicely browned - much better than my baking sheets, actually.

these won't hold heat, but they're thin enough not to get in the way of the oven's heat, so my loaves came out just wonderfully :)

thanks to DanAyo for suggesting granite ware in this thread http://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/55784/what-use-45-qt-lodge-or-6-or-8-qt-stainless-steel
i'm going to get the long roaster for doing 2 breads or baguettes and maybe another piece!
