Don’t you just love it?  I cook everything in mine but I will admit the first year I had it I thought I needed a boy scout to start the fire.. Got the hang of it now.

I’ve only made Italian and French bread in it. Haven’t tried sourdough. I usually bake sourdough in a clay clouche. Not sure if I’d get the crust just using wood oven. Maybe a pan of water in with the bread would do it

it cost.  Never seen one of these either and to see 2 of them at one time is amazing.  Very cool!

He is retired and is bored so having the tools to make them, he came up with the idea and has made a number of them for family and friends. I paid for the cost of materials and I got a portable pizza oven. We took two of them out to the barn where my daughter rides and we had the most amazing pizza party!

Here are the pictures he was sending me as he was making it.

Awesome..is the fire on the baking surface or underneath?

Is where we build the fire. There is a space at the back that you can’t see where the heat and smoke go to the upper chamber and are then wicked up the chimney at the front.

The baking surface is on top of the lazy Suzan where we place a pizza stone. I have also lined the upper surface with fire bricks and my brother made a sleeve to stop the smoke and ash from falling on the bread when I did try bread in there. The only thing was that the oven was way too hot and I ended up with a big lump of coal. The inside was fine but the outside was incinerated. I need to give it another shot but the opportunity hasn’t presented itself yet.

I bought a similar one two years ago. Made by Cuisinart . It was $1200 Canadian on sale in our local Canadian Tire store. If I remember correctly the regular price was $1499. It is red and makes wonderful Pizza ! My young granddaughter made her first loaf of bread in it .

i just saw the new stainless steel one ,looks like they made a few improvements. I’ve had mine for about 3 years and love it. Fire is made in a fire box drawer.
