Any way to change the front page settings?

I'd like to be able to see which posts are new more easily than I can now. I realize the unread ones are bolded, but my eyes not being what they once were, the difference isn't as readily apparent as I'd like. It would be easier to spot the difference if the text was a different color, or even if the bolding were heavier. 

I've already raised the magnification in my browser.
