Newbie from Washington

Hi everyone!

My name is Morgan, and I'm from Washington state. I just baked my first loaf of bread last night, and something about it really, really appealed to me. I spent the rest of my evening last night and my morning this morning finding recipes and tutorials and information on bread baking, and I definitely want to get into this more.

My mom used to bake birthday cakes and cookies and such, but nobody in my family has ever baked bread before, so I'm sort of on my own at the moment. I love bread, but making it myself always seemed too intimidating for me to try. Last night I got a wild hair and finally got up the courage to give it a shot, and it actually came out edible, which was encouraging! I had a great time preparing it.

My other interests include knitting, crochet, and creative writing, and I'm a student at the University of Washington Tacoma, studying Psychology.

Greetings from a few miles up the road!  Cash & Carry, with several Tacoma locations, is a good source for instant yeast and 25 lb. sacks of Morbread flour.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind! :)

for years I’ve gone with the no-knead approach, baking the loaf in a Dutch oven. Happy to send you a few recipes.

That would be awesome, thank you!

Made cookies and candies for school events when kids were little but no breads, cakes were box ones, but not stepping out and trying my hand at breads.

Psych major huh,  I have a Master's in that field, wasn't able due to health problems to go for licensure or even work, but love the field.
