it was a good recipe to follow for a beginner, the only thing different I did was reduce the sugar to 2 tbls . I used a mixer for the dough and gave the dough a good 8 minute kneading. I got 12 buns from the mix at a nice size. They cooked in 12 mins. The buns were lovely and soft and tasted great. I would use this recipe again...
As soon as I saw the buns I said, "That looks like the 'Beautiful Burger Buns" recipe from KAF. With 700 or so positive comments, I decided to give it a try about a month ago.
I make them every time we cook burgers on the grill now.
I also reduced the sugar, by half. I make 8 buns from the recipe. I use olive oil instead of butter, but the same amount by weight.
I've made with with AP and bread flour with no discernible difference.
I have carpal tunnel syndrom and use the stretch and fold method almost exclusively for all of my bread baking, this recipe included.

Yes I thought it was an easy to follow recipe and it worked great. I did the 12 buns and glad I did wasn't sure how big they would be but worked out great. I will definitely hang on to this recipe. Your C.T syndrome must be a real problem for your bread making, but wondered why you don't knead in a mixer, don't think I would ever get my dough smooth other wise.
Please add in the recipe and procedure that you used so that the rest of us can try and get that kind of great result, too.
Thanks for sharing all of your happy bakes - and keep enjoying them!

I use that recipe too.

I have a wonderful Magic Mill that does much of the heavy lifting for me when I'm at home. I'm at the cottage and, alas, no Magic Mill.
However, I have found that the stretch and fold method works for me. I made my buns with the S&F.
I'll be making them again this weekend!
