Instant yeast vs. Active dry yeast?

Instant yeast vs. Active dry yeast?

I made a batch of buns earlier, but now that thmet are proofing,  I realized that I used instant yeast in a recipe that called for active dry yeast, and I followed the steps to rehydrate(is that what it's called?) active dry yeast. I just learnt from a friend that instant yeast does not require hydration, which is exactmy what I did for my bread. Will this affect the end result?

Doesn't require it but will make no difference. I sometimes do it just to make sure it's still healthy. As long as you used some of the water from the recipe so it doesn't alter the hydration there should be no problem.

Yep, yeast I know! It won't make any difference. As Lechem says, I often treat the instant yeast as regular active dry yeast to be sure it's good. I don't buy it often, preferring the active dry yeast (because it's the one I'm most familiar with) but I've not had a problem with it when I have used it.
