Good to be back

I have been baking, just not posting. Life can get busy! Been working on developing other skills for the past couple years. Learning to make cakes and developing my cake decorating skills. Doing more chef stuff too. After a long time finally have the money saved to start building a wood fired oven. Watch for my detailed posts on the oven along with specs. for those who may want to build one too.

a reason to build an WFO if they can save up the cash.  Can't wait to see it.

Happy WFO baking

The WFO is fun.  And versatile.  I recommend building one as big as you can afford.

We built ours with a 43" diameter circular hearth.  Fits about 18 lbs of bread per load.

Thanks everyone. Been spending the last two days running around buying supplies. My current cost is about 500.00 usd for materials. My construction may not be ideal but its what seems logical, at this time, in my head. Its a learning experience for me. One day I hope to build a complete masonary oven. The one Im building now has a wooden base. I feel that building one that will stand for centuries is like leaving a small tangible piece of myself behind when Im gone.
