New to baking seeking advise

Hi there I have just started a new business venture which possibly may require me to start baking my own bread which is exciting, but I have never done it before!! Thought the best place to start to get pointers would be on a bread forum. I'm after some advise on suitable bread makers that I should look into getting and any other guidance you may have. I will be baking my own rye bread and sub rolls/hoagie rolls on I guess a semi commercial level.

Any help would be appreciated!

for retail baking,  Bread is usually made by hand and baked in some kind of commercial oven.  Welcome and happy baking

Since you have no experience in baking bread and need to get up to speed quickly, my suggestion would to be to find a local bread baking class. Visit a few bakeries to get a sense of what is involved. Do a search on Youtube for bakeries and you can find videos of various bakeries there too. King Arthur Flour has online courses you could investigate as well. I haven't taken any of their courses, but they do have a good reputation.

If baking your own bread and rolls isn't particularly important, you might want to consider simply buying what you need from an appropriate supplier. I can't tell if this applies to your situation, but one of the most common types of misjudgement I've seen as a business advisor is "penny-wise, pound-foolish" thinking where people save small amounts of money by expending disproportionate amounts of time and energy that would be far more productive if they allocated it to more important activities.

Thanks for the replies and for the welcome. @dabrown Sorry i did mean to say bread oven/commercial oven not bread maker! @kathyF thanks for those recommendations and the link will have a look. @arjon i am trying to weigh up whether it is a good idea or not, on one hand im trying to make everything from scratch so definately want to  investigate more and stick to that, but i also know it is easy to get straight from a supplier and might make more sense. But if i can handle making it i definately want to give it a go as would be so much better! Thanks for the comments

I think a lot is going to depend on what your business is and what your resources are. There is a video about Chad Robertson and his bakery Tartine. Starting at 2:25 in the video there is a section that covers how he helped a friend develop a recipe for baking bread for his cafe.

Why not just start baking at home and get a feel for it?
