Beautiful crust and really beautiful interior with nice large holes.  How did it taste?

Very kind of you. Sorry it took me so long to answer; I'm on the road. Taste is hard to describe; it was less flavorful than the overnight-sponge version, but that's only to be expected. I think I'll try soaking the flour overnight (no starter added) and see how that does.
