Pandoro tins in New Zealand?

Anyone who happens to both be from New Zealand and know where to source a pandoro tin for a reasonable amount? Ebay is all very well - when the seller isn't charging three times the postage as the object. In Auckland would be splendid but I think any NZ based source would be cheaper than shipping halfway across the world.. thanks in advance!

I don't know what they charge for shipping but give it a go!

Thanks! Missed that one. I requested a shipping quote, though i'm not exactly hopeful - the UK being on the opposite side of the world and their reviews saying shipping was expensive... Should find out in the next wee while.

Oh my goodness they quoted me 47 GBP... That's nearly $100 NZ :(

but you have very beautiful scenery down there. So, it is a trade off.

I believe paper molds are readily available and not expensive. I buy them for panettone and have noticed that they come in all shapes and sizes. Google provides many sources.

Good luck - Merlie.

In new zealand Merlie? And do you mean pandoro molds or panettone ones? I'm looking for the 8-sided star type mold - didn't know they came in paper.

Sorry, did not realize these pans were star shaped. I searched on yahoo last night and there were dozens of places world wide ready to sell these pans. Of course it would be time consuming to sort out the cheapest shipping. Some places offered free shipping if one spent a certain amount. Hang in there - there may be an honest seller on eBay sometime soon !

Thanks. The only one i saw on ebay that clearly states shipping has it at about 3x the price of the actual tin! (Nz$52) the others that look genuine are either in italian, or don't ship to new zealand, or both. Will keep an eye out that way, though. Maybe we just need to holiday in europe :)
