Biscuits do not contain yeast. A roll is a roll and a biscuit is a biscuit.

Believe it or not, there is something called sourdough biscuits.  I had them in the mid 70s in Cripple Creek CO, long before gambling hit the town.  It was a sleepy place then with an ancient hotel with unheated rooms.  The restaurant in that hotel served biscuits leavened with soughdough.  They were wonderful!  Not tall and flakey like regular biscuits but somewhat flat, chewy and had the wonderful taste of sourdough.  I'm sure that recipe and the people who used to make it are long gone, unfortunately.
