My New Cadco OvenW

My new oven just arrived.  I'm having someone vent to the outside.  Won't have time to play with it this week as my son is coming in from Ohio to visit this week.  Thought he would have been here by now since he landed in Greenville, SC about 1 1/2 hrs. ago.  He probably stopped to eat or something since it's just about 1 1/2 hrs to get to our house in Georgia.  Will update when I learn how to use it.  Got the half size oven.

Kmiaa,  waiting to see some photos of it in action, as well as a detailed review.  Barry.

I'll be able to start using the machine.  Will have to wait until after my son leaves to go back to Ohio.  From what I have read in the manual so far cooking times should be between 30F to 50F lower than what is set at in a conventional oven.  I have never used convection in my regular oven, even though we have it.  So this will be interesting.

I'm thinking about buying a XAF-135 myself; would love to hear something about it (or about Cadco ovens in general)

My model is XAFT 135.  If you decide on a XAFT and need an air deflector plate, the one that fits the XAF 135 does not fit the XAFT 135.  The deflector plate as I'm told is a bit different.  I don't have the deflector plate was Cadco says it's a different model. So far I have only done six loaves of bread.  Three a few days ago, and 3 yesterday.  Am trying to find out more regarding the oven, as to humidity and baking rolls, etc. but haven't come across any info.  It's easy to clean and I clean it after each use so nothing builds up.

What a surprise!

I was thinking that the difference between them was only the front door color! And, as I would also need the deflector plate, probably would have had the same problem . . . Thanks for the information.

Looking at Cadco's site, I see that they really have two models of the deflector plate: XC-600 and XC-605. Even them must be confused about it, as at the page on Convection Oven Accessories (http://www.cadco-ltd.com/convection_oven_access.html), where they list the XC-605, if you look at the Spec Sheet pdf, it is about the XC-600; if you look at Manual pdf, it is about the XC-605. This is no way of doing business.

I hope you would be able to sort it out with Cadco

The part to fit my oven is 606 and it is ordered and will be sent to the dealer I bought the oven from.  I went directly to Cadco regarding this and they looked it up and said it was ordered and will sent out Monday.

I ordered two air deflector plates for mine.   (XAFT195 has two fans.)   Had to go to a parts supplier as the retail outfits don't sell them for XAFT models.    I think they'll be here in a few days.   Hope so.   In the meantime, I've been shutting off the oven after a minute of steam.
