How about a video of some baking at an Austrian Cafe!

Nothing like ice cream, chocolates, sandwiches, pastry, cakes, breads, rolls, candies and who knows what else is being made at Bauer's.  Would love to eat at their cafe.

Thanks for the link, this is a really great video! I just watched it and it actually is an Austrian bakery/café. It has a tradition of over 100 years, has been using only organic flour/products since 1997 and won an award for best bakery in Austria in 2005. I would like to eat there too!

Dabrownman, are you from Austria? I left my heart there a long time ago. I use to live there. Visited again 2 years ago and had cake at the famous Viennese Demels pastry shop am Graben. The semmel rolls and horns were fabulous every morning at the hotel. This Bauer video made baking look so mechanized, I guess there were some things they did by hand that the machine couldn't shape, but mostly the machines formed everything! The staff were amazing in their meticulousness, the Germans and Austrians are like that! But I think this video left out the romance you get with small-time artisan baking. Now it's Mardi Gras (Fasching) there, the lovely Austrians will be partying big time. But not many will be fasting the next day!  A favorite treat during Fasching is the Faschingskrapfen -carnival jelly doughnuts. Try them, you'll like them! Maybe I should give up bread for Lent. That would be an major sacrifice, not sure if I can do it! Sweets yes, good bread, not without suffering.
