Pumpkin Nutella Swirl Bars

My wife and daughter are the cookie dessert makers around here and they are very good at it.  We are quickly getting to the Holiday season when cookies and desserts will be abundant.  But, you need to add this one to your holiday must bake list:

It comes from Tonia’s ‘The Gurney Sack’ here

My daughter made this batch that starts with a  pumpkin cake base and the 2nd layer is some of the pumpkin cake base mixed with Nutella and then baked.  Then, after it cools, you put a cinnamon, butter, cream cheese icing on it and top it off with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

I only ate 3 squares in less than a minute so my taste test is far from over but I will give this a 5 loaf rating on our 4 loaf scale.  Now I’m being called back for my beyond professional taste testing expertise.  There might are chance that these are poisonous or otherwise tampered with so Lucy will have to taste first this time.

Is this kind of baking legal ?: )

DA! It looks like you've got some real competition going on with the girls! : )  They did a super bake on the cake!

You can't cut them into small enough pieces.

Those look like they really don't suck; the kind of dessert that cavemen painted on the walls.

I either gotta get me some pumpkin and nutella, or a daughter . . .

pumpkin and nutella and borrow a daughter.  Takes to long to get a daughter large enough from scratch to make these little delights  :-)  They are very tasty little bombs.

pumpkin is a veggie so these must be good for you and cause you to lose weight all by themselves.  Max will have to get Lucy to send him some but I'm guessing it's going to be Lucy's yummy tummy before her warm and fuzzy.

WOW! Now I am going to have to buy Nutella . . .

really tasty and and a gateway drug to shooting up pure cane sugar with a chocolate and pumpkin chaser  :-)  My wife said she used to make the pumpkin cake part with the CC icing part and no nutella layer and even that was awful good.  The daughter must be taking after her Dad more than her mother and also believes less is only more when there is no more!  These are a perfect Holiday bars.  I'm ready for Thanksgiving.

Those bars are so amazing.  I could eat several in no time.

Warm Regards,

Casey

since eating a bunch or a bushel of them can't be far behind several :-)  Lucy says once the holiday season starts (July 4th for her) all dieting should be illegal!  I think I am with her on this one.  Glad you liked them Casey.

Loved you last 75% WW bread - can't wait to see the crumb

Not a fan of Nutella (or the palm oil in it) but I do like Pumpkin. But to each their own, nice bake!

Cheers,

Wingnut

as good without the nutella layer - according to my wife who makes them that way.  What could be wrong with pumpkin cake covered in a CC Icing?  Sounds fantastic to me.   Now i'm going to read the nutella ingredient list.  Palm oil can't be the only thing lurking in there :-)

Happy baking Wing.
