I wonder what that person was really up to. The article doesn't tell. The easiest thing to do is to 'check' any baggage that may be deemed suspicious by anyone for any reason. That way, you don't misplace it, you don't have to explain to the TSA guy what's in it, and it is sure to arrive safely 5000 miles from your destination! Well, usually it arrives safely!

every week with all kinds of food products, two things would happen.  If I checked them in my bag the TAS people would streal some of the food 50% of the time.  So I started to take the samples on with me in a carry on bag,  When ever i was carrying cheese I aways got stopped because cheese looks exactly like C4 explosives to TSA X ray scanner personnel.   It was such a hassle and I had to add 15 minutes to my line time every trip but they didn't steal my samples that way :-)

I had canned dog food confiscated (they didn't care whether the poor dog, rescued from Cyprus would starve) and my husband was heartbroken when they took the homemade jam his daughter had given him when he visited her in Toronto.

Nobody complained about flour mixtures in ZipLock bags, marked as "Biga" and "Final Dough", though.

Back in '73 we were crossing El Rio from Ciudad Juarez into El Paso whereupon we were stopped, frisked and held for a week by the "Justice" Dept while they had their crack chemists way over in New Orleans confirm what we already knew:  The baggies of brown powder in our backpacks were...

...Nestles Quick.

It's just too easy to be fooled by that pesky taste test.

Did they at least apologize?
