Holiday challah

Had fun combining an ordinary spiral holiday challah with the dragon scoring technique.

A piece of art that is easy to tear apart and portion out.

Well done

Thanks. One of the delights in baking is making the loaves look beautiful. So many of the members of this site point the way.

Thanks, Jeurgen. Challah among Jews is a tricky thing. I was raised with the expression Two Jews, three opinions. We all have our own ideas about challah. My two current favorites are the Czernowitz Rabbi's challah from Maggie Glezer's A Blessing of Bread, and one from a baker in Jerusalem, David Weiner (recipe at breadmantalking.blogspot.com).
