Husband has just bought me one of these as a surprise. It has a dough hook.

I've been making bread by hand for years, but I must use the machine or he'll be mortally offended.

Is there anyone who uses this machine, and can give me quantities of ingredients for a basic loaf, using yeast, and any other tips.

In my handmade recipe I never measure ingredients, so am at a bit of a loss.

From what I've read it's best to start with just 1kg of flour.

I have never used that machine , but any machine recipe should work.  If you go to the artisan section, there is a detail recipe for a rustic bread that gets great reviews   http://www.thefreshloaf.com/recipes/rusticbread

Barry - I'm just going to use my usual quantities, and the machine for kneading. Possibly mixing.

I heard that when using a machine with dough hook it's better to add the liquid before the dry ingredients.

Pat,  with Bosch machines, you need to add the liquid first, otherwise the outside of the dough is dry and just sildes around the bowl with no kneading.  Based on the photo of the dough hook, that should not be a problem with your mixer. Hope it goes well.

We've just prepared some spice/fruit bread dough with the machine and all went well - now rising. Husband helped, because I'm a technophobe.

The dough seems smoother than when I knead manually .
