This is not a giant clown shoe...

Ok...so I might have been a little carried away while playing around with hydration. This was actually a normal looking proofed loaf a few seconds before I attempted to score it, and got it stuck to the counter, and got it stuck to my arm, when I opened the oven and there was an unruly oven rack in the way. Anyway, hopefully the crumb makes up for this silly crust. The second loaf is still circular at least!

The crumb was nice and open, but not SUPER open like I would've expected. The taste and texture is actually very similar to an english muffin. Which i like, but it's a surprise!

Your post made me laugh when you said it got stuck to your arm. It happens. The bread still looks delicious.

It made me laugh too! Luckily I bake enough bread that the mistakes are amusing, not disappointing. And is pretty good tasting too. :)

That is what i like about baking bread, it is a labor of love , no matter what.

Hehe... well, against all odds, it made it to the oven!

And despite how critical i can  be about my bread, everyone I know is usually happy to eat the less than perfect examples while I work on the next improvement! ha. Thanks for the encouragement! :)

Well in that case, i will take my silly clown shoe any day! Ha! I don't consider it a true disaster until the cat won't try it! Then i know I've gone horribly wrong!
