Howdy from the Pacific Northwest

hello, is this thing on?

*taps microphone*

Hey folks, finally decided to join up.

*waits for applause*

I go by brewer as I'm a huge fan of things coffee and beer.  Also enjoy most culinary things in general. Like music, movies, cars, outdoors, bearding, and tinkering with my android devices. Married father of 2 and live outside portland, Oregon.

I've actually been baking for close to a decade, but the majority of that time was strictly pizza dough and an occasional quick bread. It's taken me many years to get good at pizza and still feel I have so much room for improvement. Only been baking bread for about two years, but it's been unbelievably rewarding. It's been the last few months that I've ventured out beyond my comfort zone and really started playing around.

I find myself naturally drawn to hobbies that are science based with an element of art/craft (coffee/espresso, brewing beer, making candles, homemade pasta), so naturally baking bread was exciting for me. Excited to get to know you all, learn what I can, and hopefully have something to offer something in return some day.

Welcome!

I'm just north of the river in Vancouver. Coffee: yes; beer: light weight. New to bread baking, today starts my 10th week...

Thanks Larry! Actually I live in Vancouver too, but everyone not from the NW thinks BC so I just tell people I live outside portland lol.

I'm sure your first 10 weeks were more productive than mine by utilizing the resources here.  Oh the mistakes I've made from pure ignorance ;)

Yes, I learned so much here :) I've also made my share of mistakes, but for the most part, they turned out quite edible.

Welcome...I am less than 100 miles from Portland/Vancouver.  Let's not be outdone by the Boston TFLers.  Any chance we could meet up?  I have a WFO and would be willing to offer up my space as a hands on opportunity for exchanging some bread baking!

Thanks Patricia! Meet up could fun. Had toyed with making a wfo for some time but the practicality is an issue lol.
