Good bakery stores in Belgium and Netherland?

Hi everyone,

I am going to Belgium and Netherland this afternoon. Can someone recommend good bakery stores for me to try really decent baguettes, chabatta and miche? I have never really tried authentic good ones in my life. Thank you!

Hi Jean,

Troughout the Netherlands, you'll find the bakeries of Vlaamsch Broodhuys (meaning "Flemish (=Belgian) House of Bread"). They have all types of artisan breads. Check http://www.vlaamschbroodhuys.nl/ for an overview of their stores. Have fun in the Netherlands!

Are you looking for a bakery, or for a store that sells bannetons and brotforms?

If it's the first, try these:

http://www.lepainquotidien.com/ is also good but not really a small-scale artisan bakery. I'm from Belgium but I can't really find any good bakers in the neighbourhood. I have to travel to Maastricht to get something decent, or bake it myself. Very sad. Hopefully someone else will be able to provide more tips :)
