Happy Easter + Shameless promotion

It has been wonderful seeing some of the great bakes on here at the moment ... wish I had more time to comment ... any how ...

... Shameless promotion time ...

The restaurant I bake for had a review in the Weekend Australian Newspaper ... thought I would share ...

It was shameless wasn't it :)

The kids had a great time blowing the eggs ... wish I had a photo of them going red in the face!

Hey Phil,

A little positive PR goes a longer way than a lot of adverts, it's always seemed to me. Nice!

But wait. The article mentions Alan Scott as if readers are as familiar with his name, craft and rep as Jamie Oliver or Julia Child. Unless I've slept through a aquarian change in US consciousness, that reference would be missed on all but TFLoafers and their ilk here in the New World.   Well done Brisbane!

At some point, I hope we can hear how you're getting those glossy chestnut crusts. Dazzling!

Best o'  luck.

Tom

Hi Tom,

I don't think many Australian readers would be familiar with Alans name or legacy ... they soon will be though in Brisbane. We will soon have three Alan Scott ovens spread over three different type of restaurants ... and seem to be getting a bit of publicity too.

I wouldn't wish my current baking setup on anyone ... I should document it to give tips on baking in less than ideal ovens ... just not enough time :)

Cheers,
Phil

Thanks Pat,

At the moment the sourdough and oil is complimentary I believe ... and is not pushed on the menu so I was pretty chuffed to see that one sentence. Big smiles.

Phil
